About US

STEP Iraq is a local NGO established in 2020 by three local people and two internationals.  STEP Iraq is registered as a local nonprofit organization working in the Kurdish Region of Iraq.  It has grown out of STEP-UK’s work and is a natural progression towards long-term sustainability. 

At STEP Iraq, we are dedicated to safeguarding the well-being of children and empowering them through education. STEP Iraq has been at the forefront of initiatives aimed at creating safer environments for children while fostering their growth and development.

Mission

Our mission is to protect children from all forms of harm and exploitation; empower and promote the well-being of children, young people and families in Iraq by establishing safe environments that nurture and equip them to reach their full potential.
